This preference is less about attractiveness and more about health and fertility.
According to the article there is evidence suggesting that the waist to hip ratio strongly correlates with a womans estrogen levels, her risk of obesity and her susceptibility to major diseases like diabetes ovarian cancer and heart disease.

Red is often associated with passion. It's not surprising that men find it alluring. In a study conducted by psychologists from the University of Rochester participants were shown photos of women framed in either white borders and asked to rate their attractiveness.
They were shown the photos but with the women wearing either red or blue clothing and were asked how much money they would be willing to spend on a date, with each woman.
Women who are dressed in red or surrounded by red are often perceived as alluring and appealing leading men to be more inclined to spend money on a date, with them.
4. Having a demeanor can make a difference.
According to a study conducted by the Society, for Personality and Social Psychology it was discovered that women who were responsive, to mens desires and requirements appeared appealing to them.
5. A higher-pitched voice.
Research has indicated that women often perceive men with voices as appealing. Conversely men generally find pitched voices to be attractive because they associate them with qualities, like fertility, femininity and a smaller physical stature.
